The ’liquid restriction in domestic flights’, which started on March 1, 2012 at Sabiha Gökçen and Atatürk Airport as a pilot application, will be implemented at all airports as of April 1.

What is the Liquid Restriction Application in My Hand Luggage?
According to international rules, starting from April 1, 2012, you can carry liquids, gels and aerosols in containers of maximum 100 ml each in a 1-liter ziplock transparent plastic bag in hand luggage on all flights. Each passenger can carry only 1 transparent plastic bag; You can use 1 liter freezer bags for this. Baggage you give to check-in is excluded from this limitation.
What Is Included in the Restriction?
- Any liquid, including water, syrup, alcohol
- Including creams, lotions, oils (including cosmetic oils), perfumes, mascara all kinds of make-up (except solid lipsticks)
- Shaving foams, deodorants
- Any paste-like substance, including toothpaste
- Not fully solid foods such as Jam, honey, yogurt, molasses and tomato paste
- Contact lens fluids
- Shampoos etc.
What Circumstances Are Exceptions?
- Medicines (provided that they are in the prescription, health report and original packaging)
- Baby food (The baby must be on the aircraft and The amount of baby food to be kept must be as much as the baby can consume during the flight)
Note: Security guards may require you to proof this exceptional situation and taste the medicine/liquid/baby food.
How will the application work for the products bought from the duty-free store?
The products you buy from the duty-free shop or during the flight, will be put in a special bag together with the invoice and the bag will be sealed. This bag and the invoice for the product will be taken to the aircraft after being checked at the security checkpoint.

After the threat of liquid explosives emerged in recent years, standards have been published and put into effect in line with the studies and evaluations made by international organizations (ICAO and ECAC). In this direction; In accordance with the rules of the international organizations of which we are a member, there are restrictions on the liquids that passengers who will travel can carry in their hand/cabin bags during their travels. The following information, prepared by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, in order to inform about the implementation and to prevent possible disruptions, is presented to you:
Liquid restrictions apply to all flights departing from our country, regardless of the airline’s nationality and destination. Restrictions are not only applied in our country, and it is important that you comply with the application in order not to have any problems at the airports where you will travel or stop in transit. In addition, the said application will be valid for all passengers transferring from one flight to another flight in our country.
With the new security application, it is not forbidden to carry liquids, aerosols, gels in cabin baggage that you will take with you; however, the amount that can be carried is limited.
You can get information from the airport duty free shop regarding the liquid limits for the products you will buy from duty-free shops.
Liquid restrictions will not be applied to the baggage you provide to check-in. You can carry all kinds of liquids in your checked baggage, except for the restrictions of the airline company and Customs legislation.
RULES FOR LIQUIDS IN YOUR HAND LUGGAGE
In your hand luggage, you can only carry liquids, aerosols, and gels in containers of no more than 100 milliliters.
These containers must be placed in a transparent plastic bag.
Volume of this resealable plastic bag must not be more than 1 liter per passenger.
Containers larger than 100ml (excluding essential medicines) will not be allowed through the security point even if they are only part full.
