A statement is made to the customs administrations with the cash declaration form published by the Ministry of Customs and Trade, at the exit of documents that allow the payment in Turkish currency exceeding 25,000 TL and with the passenger.
In case of failure to make a declaration at the exit of documents allowing payment in Turkish currency exceeding 25,000 TL with the passenger together with the passenger, or if it is determined that false or misleading statements are made, the said values are kept by the customs administration and the situation is considered suspicious and reported to the Financial Crimes Investigation Board. In addition, customs administrations shall notify the Public Prosecutor’s Office in order to take action in accordance with the first paragraph of Article 3 of the Law No. 1567 on the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency. In case of foreign currency departures exceeding 10.000 Euros or its equivalent with the passenger, a declaration is made to the customs administrations with the cash declaration form published by the Ministry of Customs and Trade.
In case of not making a declaration or in case of false or misleading declarations in foreign currency outflows exceeding 10.000 Euros or its equivalent, the said values are kept by the customs administration and the situation is considered suspicious and reported to the Financial Crimes Investigation Board. In addition, a notification is made to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in order to take action in accordance with the first paragraph of Article 3 of the Law on the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency by the customs administrations.
